Lednev: Our opponent is about the level of the top 6 of the Ukrainian Championship

Dnepr-1 starts in the Conference League with matches against Puskas Academy

Midfielder Dnepra-1 Bogdan Lednev commented on the draw for the second qualifying round of the Conference League, where the Puskas Academy will be the opponent of the Ukrainian team.

“This is a good team. I had to play against them many times during my performances in the Hungarian Championship. They have a good level, they are one of the leaders of the championship. This is a difficult competition, but if we prepare well, we can pass them.”

“They combine good work with the ball and the ability to fight. I think our opponent is about the level of the top 6 of the Ukrainian championship.”

“We have already begun individually preparing for the training camp, and, of course, we really want the matches to resume. Moreover, there are European Cups ahead – any footballer wants to participate in them.”

“Our task is to prepare for these games as efficiently as possible. Everyone understands how important the European Cups are for us. We need to get off to a good start and get good results. We hope that this is just the beginning and we will have more than one round.”

Yuri Maksimov’s team received the Puskas Academy (Hungary) as an opponent. At this stage, Polesie will also perform, which will fight with Olympia.

The reporting round matches will take place on July 25 and August 1. Dnepr-1 will hold its first match as a nominal host, Polesie will start with an away match.

To advance to the group stage of the tournament, Dnepr-1 and Polesie must triumph in three qualifying rounds. The current winner of the Conference League is the Greek Olympiacos, who beat Fiorentina in the 2023/24 League final.
