Many RPL clubs disagreed with this FIFA decision. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne has recorded appeals from no less than eight Russian clubs.
Note that Russian clubs were deprived of the possibility of participating in European competitions during the 2022/2023 season.
