Chelsea have officially signed Leicester midfielder Dewsberry-Hall

The Englishman had a strong season in the Championship under current Blues boss Maresca

Chelsea officially announced the transfer of the midfielder Kiernan Dewsberry-Hall from Lester.

The newcomer has signed a five-year deal with the Blues, with the option of a further year. It was reported yesterday that the clubs had already agreed on everything, with the compensation for the 25-year-old midfielder set to be around £30 million.

Kiernan has been with Leicester since he was eight years old, making his debut for the first team in January 2020 before going on loan to Blackpool and Luton before becoming a regular at the East Midlands club for the 2021/22 season.

When Leicester left the Premier League in the summer of 2023, Dewsberry-Hall chose to stay and had a strong season under Enzo Maresca – 49 appearances, 12 goals and 15 assists. The Foxes returned to the elite from the top spot, and the Italian coach left for Chelsea.

It was previously reported that Maresca was the main initiator of the transfer of Dewsberry-Hall and the reunion with his former protégé already in the Chelsea camp.

Earlier this off-season, the London club had already signed three young players: 17-year-old Palmeiras talent Willian Estevao, 18-year-old Aston Villa striker Omari Kellyman and his peer, Barcelona forward Marc Guyu.

Chelsea, which includes Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk, will begin the new Premier League season on August 18 with a home match against Manchester City.
