West Ham in talks with Al Ittihad over Kante transfer

The deal could be worth around £20 million

West Ham is negotiating with Al-Ittihad regarding the transfer of the midfielder N’Golo Kante.

It is reported that the new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, who has long been an admirer of his talent, is personally interested in the transfer of the French midfielder. The deal between the clubs could be worth around 20 million pounds.

N’Golo Kante played in the Premier League for Leicester and Chelsea between 2015 and 2023. Last summer, the 33-year-old Frenchman moved to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad, for whom he played 30 matches, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

This summer, Kante played for the French national team at Euro 2024. An undisputed key player in Deschamps’ team, he was twice named the best player of the match in matches against Austria and the Netherlands. France itself was eliminated in the semi-finals, losing to the eventual winner of the tournament, Spain (1:2).

West Ham have already signed Wolverhampton Wanderers defender and captain Max Kilman for £40m this off-season.

The Hammers will begin the new season on August 17 with a home match against Aston Villa.
