The summer saga surrounding the possible transfer of the Ukrainian forward continues to gain momentum
Atletico still in talks over contract terms with the striker Girona by Artem Dovbykdespite the interest that has arisen on the part of Roma.
There is already an agreement between Atletico and Girona on a transfer amount of 40 million euros, but there is no agreement yet between Matrasnikov and Dovbyk himself.
Also in recent days, two clubs have contacted Dovbyk’s representatives, one of which is Roma.
Yesterday it became known that a new buyer had appeared for the Ukrainian, who looks more attractive to the striker than a move to the Matrasnikov camp.
Among the numerous contenders for Dovbyk, Tottenham and Juventus, as well as Milan, were previously named. In addition, the Ukrainian was on the shortlists of Arsenal and Napoli.
Dovbyk’s current contract with Girona runs until 2028. The player himself was named Girona’s best player in the 2023/24 season. During the voting, the Ukrainian beat defender Eric Garcia and winger Savio.
Dovbyk moved from Dnipro-1 to Girona in August last year and had a phenomenal season. Artem became the top scorer in Primera with 24 goals, also made 10 assists, and Girona sensationally finished in the top 3 and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in history.
Atletico finished fourth in the last La Liga, behind Real, Barcelona and the aforementioned Girona.
