Athletistic / Football. Famous Russian football coach Alexander Grigoryan believes that Dejan Stankovic has not yet fully integrated into Spartak Moscow. The Serb took charge of the red and white team in the last off-season.
“Stankovich’s first official match in Russia was a failure. It is clear that nothing worked for Spartak in Orenburg. Stankovic’s idea – endless positional changes between central defenders and defensive midfielder Umyarov – did not lead to anything good. All this was met with rapid attacks from the opponent, but in the match against Khimki, Spartak appeared as a completely different team, and Stankovic made many changes to the lineup.
Now Stankovic is still at the stage where he is just learning the capabilities of his players,” Grigoryan said according to Match TV.
On July 28, in the match of the 2nd round of the RPL, Spartak beat Khimki with a score of 3:1. In the first round, Dejan Stanokovich’s team lost to Orenburg on a foreign ground with a score of 0:2. In the next round, the red-whites will host Krylya Sovetov Samara at home on August 5.
