Goals by Sukhoruchko, Sinitsa and Kogut left Lubenovich’s team with no chance in the final of the “Tournament of Four”
Left Coast won by a large margin Minay in the final “Tournament of Four” and won a historic exit in Ukrainian Premier League — 3:0.
The final match, which took place in Rivne at the Avangard stadium, was marked by a convincing advantage for the team that had never played at the elite level before and played only its first season in the First League. Vitaliy Pervak’s team won the first half thanks to goals from Daniil Sukhoruchko and Oleh Sinitsa.
After the break, Nikolai Kogut brought the score to a rout. Minai tried to get back into the game, but after Artur Remenyak’s shot, the Kyivans were saved by goalkeeper Maksym Mekhaniv.
Left Bank is a very young club, founded in September 2017. In 2021, it debuted at the professional level in the Second League. Due to a full-scale Russian invasion, the 2021/22 season was not completed. The Kiev club then took second place in Group A, two points behind Karpaty.
For a while, Left Bank suspended its performances, but in the 2023/24 season it was restored to professional football, becoming a member of the First League. At the end of last season, the Kyiv team took third place in the championship group and lost to Obolon in the play-off matches for entry into the UPL (0:1, 1:1).
The team got a new chance after the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association decided to hold a mini-tournament between four teams for the vacant place in the UPL, which became free after the withdrawal of Dnipro-1. In the semi-final, Left Bank beat Kharkiv Metalist 1925 on penalties. Minaj, in turn, beat Epicenter – also in the post-match series.
The 2024/25 UPL officially starts on Saturday, August 3, with the match Veres – Karpaty (start at 15:30).
