This summer Shakhtar actively worked on the transfer market and “on the way out”. Thus, defender Oleksandr Drambayev was sold to Kryvbas, midfielder Denil Castillo – to Midtjylland. Quite a few players went on loan: defenders Roman Savchenko and Daniil Udod – to Chernomorets, winger Khusrav Toirov – to Atyrau, lateral Georgi Gocholeishvili – to Copenhagen, center back Eduard Kozik – to Kolos.

Artur Rudko (also Chornomorets), Andriy Buleza (Karpaty), Valeriy Bondarenko (Kolos), Marlon (Al Ain), Vitao (Internacional), Yaroslav Rakitskiy and Oleksiy Kashchuk (both without clubs yet) left the club as free agents. Dmytro Chygrynskiy, as a reminder, ended his career this summer.

Shakhtar completed a “golden double” by triumphing in the UPL and the Ukrainian Cup. In the new Premier League season, the Miners will start with the second round match against Poliesie. The meeting with Vorskla in the first round has been postponed to a later date due to the call-up of players from both teams to the Ukrainian Olympic team.
