Both players represented UPL clubs last season
Left Coast officially introduced two newcomers – defender Dmitry Semenov and a midfielder Sergei Kosovsky.
Kryvbas recently announced its parting with 24-year-old Semenov. The center back has not played in official matches since the fall of 2022 due to two serious injuries. Before the start of the current season, Semenov recovered and even took part in two friendly matches of Kryvbas during the training camp.
Today it became known that Kosovskyi was leaving Obolon. Serhiy is the son of the famous Dynamo and Ukrainian national team midfielder of the 90s Vitaliy Kosovskyi. The 26-year-old footballer played for Pivovarov for the last two seasons. He has four assists in 44 matches.
Let us recall that Left Bank became the 16th participant of the 2024/25 season in the UPL thanks to a crushing victory over Minaj (3:0) in the final of the “Tournament of Four”. Earlier, Vitaliy Pervak’s team beat Kharkiv Metalist 1925 on penalties.
Left Bank is a very young club, founded in September 2017. In 2021, it debuted at the professional level in the Second League. Due to a full-scale Russian invasion, the 2021/22 season was not completed. The Kiev club then took second place in Group A, two points behind Karpaty.
For a while, Left Bank suspended its performances, but in the 2023/24 season it was restored to professional football, becoming a member of the First League. At the end of last season, the Kyiv team took third place in the championship group and lost to Obolon in the play-off matches for entry into the UPL (0:1, 1:1).
The team got a new chance after the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association decided to hold a mini-tournament between four teams for the vacant place in the UPL, which became free after the withdrawal of Dnipro-1. And they successfully realized this chance.
In the UPL, Left Bank will make its debut tomorrow, August 4, with an away match against LNZ. The start is at 13:00.
