Lazio, from captain Zaccagni to newcomers from the start: five ideas after Frosinone

A friendly that wasn’t so friendly, especially in the first 45 minutes. Yesterday at the Benito Stirpe in Frosinone, Lazio won their fourth game in five pre-season tests, not brilliantly, but with good defensive reliability. A second consecutive clean sheet after the game in Rostock is the first point to highlight. After the goals scored by Trapani and Triestine in Auronzo, they turned up their noses at the Biancocelesti’s defensive phase. However, between Rostock and Frosinone we saw solidity in the defense, waiting for the starting pairing of Romagnoli-Gila: the former returned after missing the match in Germany, the latter was recovering from a broken toe. Two clean sheets in a row and two goals to break the deadlock Mattia Zaccagni. The new captain is the second inspiration that Lazio has taken over from Frosinone. After being hit in the first half, especially by Quernadze, who was in danger of seriously damaging his ankle, Zaccagni scored his second goal in a row in his own way, a right-footed shot into the far post. A “simple” goal, but one that embodies the central role of Zaccagni in the project, technical leader and captain of the new Lazio.
