Argentine Lucas Vera explained why he moved from Orenburg to Khimki

Argentinian midfielder “Khimki” Lucas Vera said that his transfer from Orenburg to the Moscow region team was influenced by the head coach of the “red-blacks” Frank Artiga.

Vera has been playing for Orenburg since the summer of 2022 and he joined the Khimki team in the offseason.

— Your transition surprised many: after all, Khimki is not yet among the best. Can you explain your choice?

— During the holidays, Frank called me (Artiga is the head coach of Khimki. — Ed.) and said that he would like to see me in his team. We had several conversations and finally he convinced me to move to Khimki. The personal interest of the head coach played a decisive role in my choice.

— Did you know each other before?

— No, I heard about him through my work at Rodina. We have already met in Khimki. Artiga said that his game system requires a player of my profile who can move the ball. I talked with the management of both clubs and decided to accept this offer. Fortunately, the parties agreed on everything and the transition took place, ”Vera quotes the Championship.
