Chinese weightlifter Li Fabin wins 2024 Olympic gold in 61kg category with Olympic record

Silver went to Thailand’s Silachai, bronze to American Morris

On Olympic Games 2024 a set of medals was awarded weightlifting in the weight category up to 61 kg — the gold was won by a representative of China Li Fabin.

Li Fabin’s result in the sum of two events is 310 kg, while in the snatch the Chinese lifter took the weight of 143 kg and thus set a new Olympic record. Li Fabin repeated the result of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo – then he also won gold and also set an Olympic record.

The silver medal went to Thailand’s Thirapong Silachai, whose result was 303 kg. Bronze went to American Hampton Morris (298 kg).

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
