The 30-year-old fighter was awarded a considerable number of medals and took his own life in the Kursk region
Pupil of the Lviv Youth Sports School Carpathian Igor Severenchuk died in the war with Russia.
The 30-year-old fighter joined the ranks of the 95th separate airborne assault Polesie brigade from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. He took part in the battles for Dolgenkoe and Toretsk, liberated Izyum and Liman from the occupiers. He was wounded several times, but after them he returned to the front.
Igor died during military operations in the Kursk region. He served in the rank of senior sergeant. He was awarded a large number of awards: “Indestructible Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War”, the “Cross of Honor” badge, the badge of distinction of the commander of the operational-tactical group “Liman”, the chest badge “For Military Valor”, the “Golden Cross” and the Order “For Courage”.
Severenchuk was 30 years old. He graduated from the children’s and youth specialized school of the Olympic reserve of FC Karpaty. Subsequently, he received higher education at the Institute of Geodesy of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. After completing his studies, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship. He played for the reserve team of FC Hoverla.
The memorial service for the deceased took place on August 16. He was buried on the Field of Mars in Lviv.
