The Portuguese calmly responded to the question of negativity from fans
Forward Al Nasr Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about the pressure he felt after moving to Saudi Arabia. In his opinion, pressure is experienced by people who are in military conflict zones.
“When I was younger, I was completely different. I believed in myself – not only in football, but in other areas as well.”
To be honest, there was no pressure when I moved here. I think the pressure is felt by people in war, who have nothing to eat and hear gunshots at night. That’s real pressure.”
Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has scored 62 goals and provided 16 assists in 68 games for the Saudi Arabian club. This summer, Cristiano had a poor performance at the Euro with Portugal, ending his career in the quarter-finals of the tournament. At the same time, the forward failed to score a single goal at a major international tournament for the first time in his career.
Cristiano holds the world record for the number of matches played and goals scored for the national team – he played 212 matches and scored 130 goals for Portugal, winning Euro 2016.
During his career, Ronaldo played for Sporting, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.
Cristiano’s current contract with Al-Nasr runs until June 30, 2025, but the parties have already begun negotiations to extend it.
Ronaldo and Al-Nasr began the current season with a defeat in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup final against Al-Hilal (1:4). Luis Castro’s team is in fifth place in the national championship.
