Carpathians officially announced that they were leasing it out Polesie defender Maxima MelnichenkoThe 19-year-old footballer will play for the Zhytomyr team until the end of the year.
Since 2021, Melnichenko has been part of the Dnipro-1 structure, and last season the young defender made his debut for the Dnipro team in the UPL, coming on as a substitute in matches against LNZ (1:1) and Metalist 1925 (1:1).
Melnichenko (main position – central defender) is also the captain of the Ukraine U-19 team. As part of Dmytro Mykhailenko’s team, he played all four matches without substitutions at the recent 2024 European Youth Championship, where the blue-yellows performed successfully, reaching the semi-finals.

Melnichenko has only been included in Karpaty’s roster for a UPL match once this season, and has not appeared on the field. However, he was a key player in the youth team (U-19) – four matches, one assist.
