The match of the 5th round of the UPL between Kryvbas and Shakhtar was not completed due to a prolonged air raid alarm
Midfielder Krivbassa Dmitry Khomchenovsky gave his commentary regarding the game of the 5th round UPL against Minerwhich was not completed due to a prolonged air raid alarm.
“How does the team comment on the game against Shakhtar that was interrupted? We were ready to finish the match. Both after the end of the air raid siren on the day of the match, but we were not allowed to do so; and on September 25, but Shakhtar cited a busy schedule and did not agree to this date. Let me just remind you that we finished the game with Betis on Friday Ukrainian time, were on the road all day and arrived in Kryvyi Rih after midnight on Saturday. And the next day we went out to play with the Miners.”
“Do I agree that the game against Shakhtar was easy for Kryvbas? Of course, I agree. There was still time, we had moments to recoup and, I think, we would have had enough strength and desire to turn this game around. We lacked a little bit of implementation, a little bit of the last pass. We will still have time to finish this match, and we can change everything.”
Vice President of Kryvbas Artem Gagarin previously proposed to finish the match with Shakhtar on Wednesday, September 25.
The Kryvbas – Shakhtar match was not completed on Sunday, September 1. The reason was a prolonged air raid alarm, which interrupted the match at the beginning of the second half with the score 1:0 in favor of the Miners – Taras Stepanenko scored in the 40th minute.
Let us recall that on the night of August 27, Russians launched a missile attack on a hotel in the center of Kryvyi Rih. Shakhtar footballers planned to stay at this hotel before the match with Kryvbas. The tragedy took the lives of four people. Mourning was declared in Kryvyi Rih on August 28. On the day of mourning, Russians again attacked the city with a missile: nine people were injured.
Shakhtar is in ninth place in the UPL standings after four matches. Kryvbas has 7 points after four matches and is in eighth position.
In the next round of the Ukrainian championship, Kryvbas will play against Left Bank, and Shakhtar will play against Karpaty.
