Let us recall that at the end of August, Ukraine held a number of friendly matches. First, Kosenko’s team successfully performed at the tournament in Viseu, Portugal, where they successively beat Costa Rica (4:0), Cuba (7:0) and Portugal (the current world and European champions, 6:3). After that, on August 28, the blue-and-yellows routed Saudi Arabia (8:3), and two days later tied with Libya (2:2).
The 2024 World Cup will be held in Uzbekistan. Kosenko’s team will play in Group C and will begin their performance at the tournament on September 15 with a match against the favorite of the quartet, the Argentina team. Three days later, the blue-and-yellows will play Angola. Ukraine will finish the group stage with a match against Afghanistan on September 21.
