The 31-year-old midfielder returned to his native club
Ex-midfielder Inter Davy Klassen transferred to Ajax.
The agreement between the parties is valid until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Klaassen is an Ajax youth product, having played for the club’s first team from 2011 to 2017 and again from 2020 to 2023.
The 31-year-old midfielder also played for Everton and Werder Bremen, and spent last season at Inter. Klassen played only 13 matches in Serie A for the Nerazzurri, who eventually won the Scudetto. At the end of the season, the player left Inter as a free agent.
As part of the Netherlands national team, Klaassen played 41 matches and scored 10 goals – the midfielder, together with his national team, reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ajax played only two matches in the Eredivisie – the club’s matches were postponed due to a police strike in the Netherlands.
The Amsterdam team will play their next match today, September 18, at home against Fortuna.
