Let us remember that it was Schneider who knocked out Kostyuk in the quarter finals of the singles of the WTA 500 tournament in Seoul, which took place in mid-September. In the singles tournament in Beijing, Marta dropped out in the first round, losing to American Katie Volynets.

Initially, Lyudmila Kichenok was supposed to play in Beijing together with Elena Ostapenko, but the Latvian refused to participate in the tournament due to an injury to her abdominal muscles. Lyudmila, together with Elena, became champions in the doubles US Open 2024 in early September – for Lyudmila this was the second Grand Slam series title in her career.
