Athletic’s coach beat Hans-Dieter Flick and Carlo Ancelotti in the voting
Mentor Athletics Ernesto Valverde recognized as the best coach of September in La Liga.
The 60-year-old specialist beat Hans-Dieter Flick (who was recognized as the best coach of August in La Liga) and Carlo Ancelotti in the voting.
Under Valverde’s leadership, Athletic played four games in September, winning victories over Las Palmas (3:2), Leganes (2:0), Celta (3:1) and drawing in the last round against Sevilla (1:1).
In the La Liga standings, the Basques are in 5th position with 14 points.
Athletic will play their next match in the championship on October 6 away against Viktor Tsygankov’s Girona, but before that they will host AZ Alkmaar at home on October 3 in the Europa League.
