Madrid Real shows interest in midfielder Real Sociedad Martino Subimendi.
Blancos see Subimendi as a replacement for Aurélien Tchouameni, who could leave the club next summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool showed interest in the 25-year-old Subimendi in the summer transfer window – the Merseysiders were even ready to pay the player’s clause in the amount of 60 million euros, but Martin himself decided to stay in Real Sociedad.
Subimendi is a native of San Sebastian who spent his entire career with Real Sociedad. Having made his debut in the first team in 2019, Martin managed to play 197 matches for them in all tournaments, in which he scored nine goals and seven assists.
As part of the Spanish national team, Subimendi became the European champion this summer. At Euro 2024 in Germany, he appeared on the field in four matches, including spending the entire second half in the final against England (2:1).
In the 2024/25 season, Subimendi played in all eight of Real Sociedad’s La Liga matches, scoring in the opening match against Rayo Vallecano.
Real Sociedad will play its next match on October 3 in the Europa League at home against Anderlecht.
