Shoturma: This World Championship has already shown that all teams can beat the tops

National team player Ukrainian futsal player Petr Shoturma commented on the upcoming match with the national team Brazil in the semi-finals World Cup 2024.

“We know Brazil is a high-quality opponent. This is a team with a great past and, I hope, a future. They have a lot of qualified players who play in the leading world championships, but we will play with our trump cards, which we have enough to show our game and, I think, it will be a good game.”

“We watched and followed every game they played at the World Cup. And we see that with each game they only improve. They have few problems defensively. The attack is also a very good individual team with highly skilled players who really show that they are the best in the world. They are showing cool futsal now, but we are catching up with them.”

“This World Championship has already shown that all teams can beat the tops, all teams can fight the tops. I would say that at this stage this World Cup is very unpredictable.”

Let us remind you that the blue-yellows, thanks to a bright victory over Venezuela (9:4), for the second time in their history made it to the semi-finals of the Futsal World Cup – for the first time this achievement was achieved in 1996, at that World Cup the yellow-blues took 4th place.

Earlier at the tournament, which takes place in Uzbekistan, Kosenko’s team defeated Angola (7:2) and Afghanistan (4:1) in the group, but also suffered a painful defeat from Argentina (1:7). In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainians were stronger than the Netherlands (3:1).

Ukraine’s opponent in the semi-finals of the 2024 World Cup will be Brazil, this match will take place on Wednesday, October 2. Starts at 18:00 Kyiv time.

The Brazilians beat their opponents from Morocco (3:1) at the previous stage. The other two semi-finalists for the 2024 World Cup are France and Argentina.
