The hero of the 8th round, Orinchak, talks about Skala 1911’s double: Proboy’s coaching staff spent the whole week preparing us for the game with a difficult opponent

He’s back! After a round of silence,” Bogdan Orinchak scores again. In general, he did not score goals in only two championship matches. And in the match with Skala, 1911 scored twice after coming on as a substitute! Which, of course, did not escape the attention of the PFL and Sport Arena jury.

The hero of the 8th round in the Second League, Bogdan Orinchak, shared with Sport Arena his impressions of the long-awaited victory after several rounds of failure and his personal status – the most productive Ukrainian scorer of the 2024/25 season with 11 goals in the Ukrainian Championship and Cup.

– How unexpected and pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the Second League?

– To be honest, before the game with Skala, 1911 was preparing himself to score two goals and for the team to win. I’m glad that my thoughts materialized. It’s nice to experience these emotions again.

– Proby, after a fabulous start to the season, could not win three matches in a row: a draw and two defeats. What do you think is the reason for these results?

– In my opinion, the reason is that our two main central defenders were injured and we were not prepared for such personnel difficulties.

– How did the team perceive the latest results? How difficult was it psychologically or did you still feel confident in your abilities?

– It’s a pity that we lost our points in three matches, but, in my opinion, the results were irregular and not at all in keeping with the game. We were focused on working on our own mistakes, and the coaching staff and players were only focused on winning.

– Perhaps any changes were made to the training process or continued to work as usual?

– There were no special changes in the training process, and we worked as usual.

– What were your expectations for the match against Skala 1911? The opponent is definitely not the easiest… Did you manage to implement your game plan?

– The coaching staff spent the whole week preparing us for the game with a difficult opponent, whom we analyzed well in the theoretical lesson. I think that we managed to implement everything, and we followed the head coach’s instructions.

– The head coach decided to carry out a significant rotation in the squad. Can we say that this benefited the team? It was quite unusual to see you not at the start…

– These were forced changes due to the illness of several players before the match, including me. Because I felt very bad on the eve of the game and was not completely sure whether I would be able to play at all. Therefore, the coach and I decided that I would only go on the field when the team needed my help.

– What didn’t work for the team in the first half, since they started the game quite actively?

“I think that the team succeeded in everything in the first half, we completely controlled the game, however, the implementation of the created opportunities was somewhat let down.

– Already in the 59th minute, your team took advantage of the opponents’ mistake and after Ivanychuk’s pass you opened the scoring. Remember this episode?

– To be honest, I myself did not understand how this happened. We scored a goal and the linesman called it offside. I had my back to the opponent’s goal and was leaving the penalty area, and then I saw that the opponent quickly brought in the ball, it bounced straight to me and I simply shot into the far corner of the goal. The ball flew into the net and we ran to celebrate 🙂

– Five minutes after Voloshinovich’s pass from the corner, you scored for the second time. Are standards your team’s strength?

– Vladimir Kovaluk gets special pleasure after the team scores from set pieces, and in every game he emphasizes that we must score from the corner, because we have tall players and we need to take advantage of this advantage.

– After that goal, did you realize that you wouldn’t give up the victory?

– When we scored the second goal, we already realized that victory was in our hands and after that we concentrated more on defense so as not to concede.

– What conversations were there in the locker room after the match? Breathed a sigh of relief?

– Of course, we were able to breathe a sigh of relief, because we won such a necessary and important victory. There were happy emotions in the locker room that we and our fans missed.

– Now four teams in Group A have 16 points. You probably enjoy playing in such competition?

– It’s nice that our group is fighting so hard and that all the teams are neck and neck in the standings. I think this situation is interesting for the fans.
