The second round away match for Blancos will start at 22:00
Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin will appear in the lineup from the first minutes Real Madrid in the second round away match Champions League against Lille.
Let us remind you that Real Madrid’s main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is experiencing muscle problems after the match with Atletico Madrid. The Belgian will soon undergo an MRI – there is a possibility that Courtois will remain in the hospital until the end of the international break.
The Belgian was not included in Real’s squad for the upcoming Champions League match against Lille. Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti assured Lunin of the club’s absolute trust.
The Ukrainian will appear today for the first time in official games for Real this season. Last season, due to an injury to Courtois, Andrei was a player in the main squad: 31 matches in all tournaments, 32 goals conceded, 12 clean sheets. The Ukrainian was also nominated for the Best Goalkeeper of the Year award at the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
In September, Lunin extended his contract with Real Madrid, signing a new agreement until 2030.
The second round match of the Champions League between Lille and Real Madrid will begin at 22:00 Kyiv time.
