The blue-and-yellows achieved their highest World Cup achievement in their history
Mentor Ukrainian national futsal team Alexander Kosenko summed up the results of his performance at the 2024 world championship, which ended in Uzbekistan.
“We don’t really have a full understanding yet, but it’s really fantastic. Probably, awareness will come a little later, but now it’s somehow difficult to imagine, but it’s really so. We are bronze medalists at the World Championships.”
“After each stage, flight tickets are booked. If a team does not advance to the next stage, then it flies home the next day. This is a formality that all teams use. It’s good that we stayed here until the end and will return to our homeland in a good mood, as we wanted.”

The Ukrainian team reached the semi-finals, where in a worthy fight they lost to the most titled team in the world – Brazil (2:3). However, the blue-yellows managed to achieve their highest achievement at the World Championships in their entire history – third place.
Alexander Kosenko’s team defeated the French team in the bronze final with a score of 7:1. Igor Chernyavsky and Mikhail Zvarych scored goals for our team, and Evgeniy Zhuk scored a double. Daniil Abakshin scored a hat-trick into an empty net.
Two Ukrainian football players became winners of individual nominations. Daniil Abakshin received the “silver boot” of the tournament, and Rostislav Semenchenko became the third best player of the tournament, receiving the “bronze ball”.
The Brazilian team became the world champion, beating Argentina (2:1). The Brazilians won the world title for the sixth time.
