Mbappe and Haaland top the list of players playing in Europe
39 year old Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list of the highest paid football players in the world according to the publication Forbes.
The total annual income of the legendary Portuguese is a cosmic sum of 285 million dollars, of which he receives 220 under a contract with Al-Nasr, and another 65 for advertising and marketing.
No less legendary Argentinean Lionel Messi takes second place in this list, at the same time being the only representative of MLS in the top 10. His annual salary is more than half that of his eternal competitor – 135 million dollars, of which he receives only 60 million under a contract with Inter Miami.
Third on the list is Lionel’s ex-partner at Barcelona and PSG, Brazilian winger Neymar. A football player who managed to play nothing for Al-Hilal and was sidelined for more than a year due to a serious injury receives 110 million (80 + 30) per season.
Fourth place goes to another representative of the Saudi League Pro, Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad – 104 million (100 + 4). The best result among representatives of European clubs is Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid, who earns 90 million (70 + 20). Next are Erling Haaland (Manchester City, 60 million), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid, 55 million), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 53 million), Sadio Mane (Al-Nasr, 52 million) and Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City, 39 million ).
Earlier, in May, Forbes determined the ten highest paid athletes in the world. And in that list, Ronaldo was beyond competition, Messi was in third place, and among the players in the top ten there were also Mbappe, Neymar and Benzema.
