Ex-goalkeeper Past returned to Chernomorets as coach of the club’s academy

After leaving Veres, the Odessa resident decided to hang up his gloves and return to his native club

Chernomorets announced his return to his ranks Evgeniya Pasta. The famous goalkeeper is no longer an active football player, and in his native club he will begin a new stage of his football life – as a coach of the Mariners academy.

Past is a native of Odessa and a student of Chernomorets. He played for the first team from 2010 to 2015, then his career included Zirka, Desna and SK Dnepr-1. In January 2022, Evgeniy returned to Chernomorets, but during the entire 2022/23 season he entered the field only nine times. In total, Past played 73 matches for the Odessa team (23 to zero) and missed 85 goals.

The goalkeeper spent last season in Veres – 15 matches, four clean sheets, 22 missed goals. In early April, in a game against Obolon (3:0), the experienced goalkeeper tore his cruciate ligament and was out until the end of 2024. As it turned out, the injury pushed the UPL veteran (189 matches in the elite division) to end his playing career.

The Odessa team ranks 9th in the UPL after nine rounds. In the next match, on October 20, Chernomorets will host Veres, the last team of Pasta.
