Gutsulyak expects to return to the general group of Polesie next week

The player plans to prepare for the match against Kolos

Midfielder Polesie and the national team Ukraine Alexey Gutsulyak joined the location of the Zhytomyr club.

The midfielder intends to return to the general group at the beginning of next week. The player himself expects to play in the next round of the UPL against Kolos on October 25.

Alexey was injured in the first half of the match with the Czech Republic (1:1) in the 2024/25 Nations League. After a corner kick in the 18th minute, Gutsulyak collided with Czech captain Tomas Soucek. A couple of moments after this collision, the Czech team opened the scoring thanks to a precise strike from Lukas Cerv.

Gutsulyak himself left the field only on a stretcher, accompanied by medical services. Instead of him, Shakhtar winger Alexander Zubkov took the field. After the match, Gutsulyak was diagnosed with a mild concussion.

Alexey played three matches as part of the Ukrainian national team. Previously, he appeared on the field in the Euro 2024 qualifying play-off match against Bosnia and Herzegovina (2:1), as well as in the 2024/25 Nations League match against Georgia (1:0).

For the Zhytomyr club, Gutsulyak played 10 matches in all tournaments this season, scoring five goals and two assists.

Polesie is in second place in the UPL standings. Today, October 19, the Zhytomyr club will play with Left Bank.
