Foresters will pay 125 thousand pounds sterling, Blues – 40 thousand
Chelsea And Nottingham Forest fined for fighting their players on the field in the 7th round match English Premier League. Both clubs admitted the FA’s charges.
In the match, which took place on October 6 and ended in a 1-1 draw, Forest defender Neco Williams pushed Blues defender Marc Cucurella into London head coach Enza Maresca. This led to a massive brawl involving players from both teams. When reaching its verdict, the independent commission took into account the large number of football players who were involved in the incident.
Nottingham Forest received a fine £125 thousand. Chelsea awarded 40 thousand pounds. Initially, the fines were 150 and 50 thousand pounds respectively, but were reduced after the teams admitted guilt.
The foresters received a larger fine due to aggravating factors. For Nottingham, this was the sixth such incident in the last three years. The Blues were involved in such action for the third time in the last five seasons.
Chelsea are in fifth place in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest are in seventh place, one point behind the Blues.
