Victoria beat LNZ in a penalty shootout and became the last participant in the 1/4 finals of the Ukrainian Cup

Anatoly Bessmertny’s team executed the penalty perfectly, while the LNZ players failed to convert three of their four attempts

IN Cherkasy the final match of the 1/8 finals took place Ukrainian Cup — first league Victoria beat in a penalty shootout LNZ (2:2, 3:1 series of pens.)

The scoring was opened already in the 3rd minute of the match – Victoria midfielder Daniil Knysh scored. LNZ restored the status quo immediately after the break through the efforts of Nigerian forward Francis Momo.

Regular time ended with the score 1:1, so the game smoothly went into overtime. In the 99th minute, LNZ took the lead from midfielder Olivier Till, but Victoria sent the game into a penalty shootout in the 120+1 minute – the goal was scored by Artem Ryaby.

In the penalty shootout, LNZ started extremely poorly. First, the same Till’s shot was parried by Victoria goalkeeper Alexander Litvinenko, after which Muharrem Yashari shot wide. Denis Oleinik scored the third shot for LNZ, and Shota Nonikashvili missed the fourth, hitting the upright. The Sumy players converted all three of their shots and thereby created the main sensation of the 1/8 finals stage.

Thus, the names of all eight participants in the quarterfinal stage of the Ukrainian Cup became known – Rukh, Alexandria, Dynamo, Miner, Bukovina, Veres, Polesie And Victoria.

LNZ will play its next match on November 4 away against Zorya, and Victoria will host FSK Mariupol at home on November 3 as part of the First League.
