The Ukrainian earned positive reviews for his fight with Ennis
Famous American trainer Stephen Edwards commented on the fight of the Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhyan (24-3, 13 KOs) and IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs).
“Ennis is strong, but Karen neutralized all that. Even when “Boots” dropped his opponent, Chukhajian continued to irritate him. Karen closed Jaron in such a way that it was difficult for him to get out of the clinch.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy has wrestling experience. It was impressive, he fought well. Chukhadzhyan’s performance shocked a lot of people because everyone saw how this guy ran in the first fight.”
Chukhajyan lost to Ennis in his last fight. The fight eventually lasted the entire intended distance of 12 rounds, and to determine the winner it was necessary to resort to the judges’ notes. All three referees unanimously gave the victory to Ennis: 119:107, 117:109, 116:110.
Let us remember that Chukhadzhyan had previously met with Ennis. The previous fight also took place in the USA in January 2023. The American confidently won on points, all judges gave each round to Jaron (three times 120:108).
Chukhadzhyan’s liabilities now include three defeats in his professional career. Ennis, 27, remains undefeated in his third successful IBF title defense.
The potential next opponent of the Ukrainian boxer could be another American, Blair Cobbs.
