Ranieri officially appointed Roma head coach

The 73-year-old will remain in this role until the end of the season, after which he will take up the position of advisor to the club owner on sporting matters.

Roma officially appointed the legendary Claudio Ranieri head coach until the end of the 2024/25 season.

At the end of this period, the 73-year-old specialist will take a position in the club’s management. It is reported that he will become the owner’s advisor on all sporting matters. At the same time, the search for a new mentor will continue over the next months, and Claudio himself will take part in it.

Ranieri’s independent coaching career has lasted almost 40 years – since the summer of 1986. The most experienced coach in his career previously led Roma twice, the last time for a short period in 2019.

In addition to the Giallorossi, the Italian coach led a number of famous clubs, including Napoli, Fiorentina (Italian Cup and Super Cup), Atlético Madrid, Valencia (Spain Cup and UEFA Super Cup), Chelsea, Juventus, Inter, Monaco, Leicester (legendary victory in the 2015 Premier League). 16), Sampdoria and others. His last place of work was Cagliari. Since the summer of this year, Claudio has not been involved in coaching.

Ranieri will become Roma’s third head coach this season. Let’s remember that in September Daniele De Rossi was fired from the capital’s club, and on November 10 his successor Ivan Jurich lost his position.

Wolves are in a deep crisis – 13 points after 12 rounds and a place in the bottom half of the standings. In the Europa League, the Giallorossi won only one victory in four rounds – and that was minimal, over the main outsider of the general stage Dynamo (1:0), with the winning goal of the Ukrainian Artem Dovbik.

Roma will play their next match after a break for national teams – on November 24, Ranieri’s team will play away against leading Napoli.
