The 35-year-old Cameroonian has been without a club since the summer
Experienced striker Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting will soon move to New York Red Bulls.
It is reported that the transfer is already at the final stage. The Cameroonian will sign a contract until December 2026.
Chupo-Moting is 35 years old. He is known for his performances primarily for Paris Saint-Germain (2018 – 2020, twice French champion, Champions League finalist) and Bayern (2020 – 2024, three times German champion). After leaving the Munich giants last summer, the striker remained without a club for several months.
Also during his career, Choupo-Moting played for Hamburg, Nuremberg, Mainz, Schalke and Stoke City. Played almost 300 matches and scored 64 goals in the German Bundesliga. In addition, the Hamburg native has 20 goals scored in 73 matches for the Cameroon national team.
RB from New York took only seventh place in the regular season of the MLS Eastern Conference, scoring 27 points less than the winner, Inter Miami. But the team of Sergei Krivtsov and Lionel Messi sensationally crashed out of Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs, and the Red Bulls, having passed Columbus with the Ukrainian Evgeniy Cheberko and fellow countrymen from New York City, have already reached the semifinals, where they lead Orlando in the series with a score of 2 :0.
Note that Red Bull is coached by German specialist Sandro Schwartz, who crossed paths with Eric-Maxim in Mainz. The team captain is the winger of the Swedish national team, and in the recent past, the long-time leader of Leipzig, Emil Forsberg.
