The blue-and-yellows spent 20 minutes in a numerical majority, but were unable to snatch victory and qualify early for Division A
Women’s national team of Ukraine U-19 parted company with peers from Israel in the 2nd round of group B6 qualification European Championship 2025 – 1:1.
Victory would have guaranteed Natalia Ignatovich’s team first place and early entry into Division A, but the Ukrainians were unable to achieve it.
The first half was not encouraging with any goals scored, but the second half began with a goal from the Israelis (Mikhaelit Workou scored). In the middle of the second half, Israel remained in the minority, and the blue-yellows immediately equalized the score through the efforts of Lydia Zaborovets. The Ukrainian team had enough time to snatch victory, but they were unable to do so.
Let us remind you that Ukraine started this qualifying tournament with a victory over Armenia (2:0). Now the fate of first place in group B6 will be decided on December 2 in the confrontation between the Armenian and Israeli teams. The Israelis need a big win – then they will win the group and advance to Division A. In this case, Ukraine will only have to hope to take the best among the second places.
Based on the results of the second round of selection, seven countries will be determined that will join Poland in the final stage of Euro 2025.
