The owners of the English club understand that Klopp is a perfect fit for the team and that’s why they already want to start conversations to keep the coach for another four seasons beyond the current contract. Negotiations for the new contract, however, are expected to take some time to reach a final agreement. The German must demand the renewal with Pep Lijnders, Peter Kraweitz, Vitor Matos and John Achterberg, his trusted men.
Klopp at Liverpool
Jürgen Klopp arrived at the Liverpool in 2015, on a five-year contract, after ending his spell at Borussia Dortmund. Since then, he has signed two renewals: in June 2016 and December 2019. In this period, the German won the Champions League (2018/2019), the Club World Cup (2019) and the Premier League (2019/20) – the club’s first Premier League-era title.
Liverpool vs Villarreal
This Wednesday, the 27th, Liverpool hosted Villarreal at Anfield for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final. The English team was dominant from the beginning of the game, but had difficulties to pierce the strong Spanish defense during the first half. After the break, Submarino Amarelo could not hold back the intensity of Jürgen Klopp’s team, who built a good lead for the return game.
