Real Madrid have the best chance of winning the Champions League, Shakhtar are not given even 1% to win the trophy

Today starts the group round of the most prestigious club tournament in Europe

On Tuesday, September 6, the group stage of the Champions League starts. The fight for the trophy will lead 32 clubs, divided into eight groups. Gracenote analysts assessed the teams’ chances of winning the tournament.

According to experts, the favorite of the draw is the current owner of the trophy, Real Madrid. The chances of the Creamers retaining the cup are estimated at 21%. This is followed by two English giants – Manchester City and Liverpool – 20% and 19% respectively.

It is noteworthy that the top six clubs that have the highest chances of winning the tournament are the finalists of the last draws. So, the fourth position belongs to Bayern – 10%, the fifth and sixth – to PSG and Chelsea – 5% each.

The chances of two more representatives of La Liga – Barcelona and Atlético – are estimated at 4%.

But experts do not believe in Shakhtar’s success at all. The miners are not given a single percentage to win the tournament. By the way, with zero probability of winning the tournament, apart from Shakhtar, 13 clubs were also evaluated. Including the Pitmen’s rival in the group – Celtic.

And here’s another opponent of Shakhtar, the match with which the Pitmen will open the group stage today – Leipzig – analysts give 1% to win the Champions League.

At the same time, we note that Shakhtar has one of the highest chances to take third place in its quartet. Analysts estimated the probability of such a development of events at 39%. They give the same amount to Bayer, and more – 41% each – to Sevilla and Inter.

If we talk about the Pitmen’s opponents, then the chances that Real will finish third in the quartet are estimated at 2%. Leipzig is probably third with 26% and Celtic with 33%.
