The fate of the meeting was decided by Sikan’s hat-trick
National team of Ukraine U-21 qualified for the 2023 European Championship.
In the second match of the playoff round of the Euro 2023 qualification, the blue-and-yellows in the Polish city of Bielsko-Biala at the Municipal Stadium defeated their peers from Slovakia – 3:0.
The fate of the meeting, and at the same time vouchers for the European championship, was decided in the second half. The hat-trick of Daniil Sikan brought victory to the team of Ruslan Rotan.
The striker scored in the 48th minute, six minutes later Sikan doubled his team’s advantage. The striker made the final point in the 66th minute after Oleksandr Nazarenko’s pass.
The total score after the two-match confrontation between the youth teams of Ukraine and Slovakia is 5:3 in favor of the blue-yellows.
The European Championship will be held in June-July 2023 in Romania and Georgia.
