Porsche had planned to start racing in Formula 1 as a power plant supplier to Red Bull Racing from 2026, but negotiations with the team stalled and the partnership had to be terminated. After that, rumors surfaced that Porsche had completely abandoned its plans to participate in Formula 1, but they were denied by the company.
FIA president Mohammed bin Sulayem confirmed after a World Council meeting the day before that Porsche will continue to explore options.
“In August, Audi announced in Spa its participation in Formula 1 as a powertrain supplier from 2026,” said Mohammed bin Sulayem. – This statement was the result of the hard work of all stakeholders in developing new rules. We also note that Porsche continues to negotiate with Formula 1 teams.”
