AlphaTauri are just two points behind Haas F1 in the Constructors’ Championship, but they admit it won’t be easy to fight for a place in the top ten…
Yuki Tsunoda (15th): “In the first practice the balance left something to be desired, there were many young riders on the track and although the 13th place is not high, the result was still higher than normal. At the beginning of the second practice, balance improved, I was more comfortable in the car, but the speed was still not enough.
It won’t be easy to score points this weekend, but we have one practice left – we’ll do our best to prepare for qualifying as best we can, and the pace during the long run of laps today was good , so we should be more competitive in the race.”
Pierre Gasley (19th): “Today was not easy, but we will make the necessary changes to look better in qualifying tomorrow.
The top ten impresses with its speed, and we are still a long way from their pace. But it can still happen, we will fight to the end.”
