Track changes and four DRS zones in Melbourne

On the eve of the Australian Grand Prix, the FIA ​​explained the track changes and confirmed the location of four DRS zones with two detection points on the Albert Park circuit.

Compared to last year, the width of the pit lane exit has been reduced to four meters and the line marking the pit lane exit boundary now coincides with the second line of the safety car.

The metal and tire barriers on the left towards the eleventh turn have been rebuilt – they are three feet high. On the left side of marshal post 10.5, a new exit for the evacuation of cars has been provided.

Melbourne will have four DRS zones by 2023. The detection point of the second interval between cars for the first and second DRS zones is 40 meters after the sixth turn. The activation point of the first zone is 130 meters after marshal sector MS11 in the section between the eighth and ninth turns, the activation point of the second zone is 100 meters after the tenth turn.

The detection point of the third and fourth DRS zones is 90 meters before the thirteenth turn. The third zone activation point is 30 meters after the fourteenth turn and the fourth zone activation point is 30 meters after the second.
