Nick de Vries started the season in an unimpressive way, for which he was criticized by Helmut Marko, who gave the AlphaTauri rider a “yellow card”. After the Monaco Grand Prix, however, Nick heard praise from the Austrian and he also had a confident weekend in Spain, although he failed to earn any points for 14th.
De Vries believes he took a step forward during the stage in Barcelona and looks forward to further progress.
“I think the last two weekends have been encouraging,” Racingnews365 quotes Dutch racer AlphaTauri as saying. – We drive on different types of tracks, so we need a car that is effective in all conditions. We have a new challenge ahead of us in Canada, but I hope I will continue to improve based on the progress I’ve made over the past two weeks, and in the races we will be able to take every opportunity.
When asked if the performance in Barcelona has boosted his confidence, Nick replied: “Definitely, although there are things I could have done better.
On Saturday we have a faster pace, so we fight for high positions. Racing needs to be more stable and globally competitive, then the results will come.”
