The FIA World Council has voted electronically to approve the calendar for the 2024 season of the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship.
The twelfth season of the racing series spans eight countries on four continents. Qatar’s Losail Circuit will host the prologue and first stage of the Qatar 1812 Kilometers season, named after Qatar’s National Day.
The championship will be followed by a series of European rounds in Imola, Spa and France, which will conclude with the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon on June 15-16. After the FIA WEC, the competitors will take turns to Sao Paulo, Austin, Fuji and Bahrain, where the season will end on November 2 at the Sakhir circuit.
Mohammed bin Sulayem, President of the FIA: “It is always a pleasure to see the development of championships under the auspices of the FIA. The announcement of the 2024 FIA WEC season calendar is another positive development for the series.
Not only will there be more races next year, but more importantly there will be more geographic diversity on the calendar, making the championship accessible to the people.
The expansion of the calendar coincides with the emergence of the FIA and the premier Hypercar class, made possible by the joint reform of the FIA and ACO, which has attracted new manufacturers.”
