Nico Rosberg gives advice to Sergio Perez

Nico Rosberg advised Sergio Perez to pay less attention to criticism and to concentrate fully on work if he wants to return to the form he showed at the start of the season.

In the first four races, the Mexican took two victories and they started talking about him as a possible title contender. Then Sergio’s results took a turn for the worse, in the next eight Grand Prix he only finished on the podium four times and in five cases he failed even to reach the qualifying final.

It seems that it was only through the Hungarian stage of the championship that Perez regained the necessary confidence. At the moment he is at least playing 125 points with Max Verstappen, his teammate at Red Bull Racing and the leader of the season.

“I would advise Sergio to turn off all social networks and in general everything superfluous so as not to read something like that,” advised the 2016 world champion. “Otherwise he will see so many different types of memes and comments directed at him. Journalists ask all kinds of questions, so he has to isolate himself from all that criticism in his speech.

When I was fighting for the championship, I completely disconnected from social networks, did not check e-mail and did not read any news at all.

The only problem is that he still has to come to the circuit and sit in front of 50 journalists who will ask: “Hey Sergio, it seems you are experiencing the most serious problems of your entire career. Do you think you will be able to overcome them?”

It always hits you, because you all have to listen to this. Press inquiries cannot be ignored, they must be answered.

And the next question will be: “Hey Sergio, do you feel threatened by Daniel Ricciardo, are you afraid of losing your place in the team?”

Everything will be just like that, and it will be repeated again and again, and it is very difficult to resist it. For Sergio this will be the hardest part of the weekend and something will have to be done about it one way or another. That’s why it’s important to be able to switch off from all this and focus on the most important thing.
