Haas plans to bring technical innovations to the US Grand Prix in Austin. Team driver Kevin Magnussen said updates to the car are needed to avoid losing eighth place in the constructors’ championship in the remaining six races of the season.
Kevin Magnussen: “The team has something to lose. We are now eighth in the Constructors’ Championship, but could still drop to tenth. There is no doubt that we have something to fight for.
We are trying to overtake Williams, but they are very fast now, so it will be difficult to overtake them. The goal now is to maintain eighth place. Even one earned point can be very important in the battle against Alfa Romeo.
I don’t think the new products we are preparing for Austin will make a huge step forward, but we hope the updates will help improve and pave the way for an upward development trajectory.”
