Lando Norris is preparing for his 100th Formula 1 race

In the three previous stages in Singapore, Japan and Qatar, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri earned 104 points for their team. McLaren drivers expect to build on their success at the US Grand Prix in Austin and will attempt to reach the podium for the fourth time in a row, but admit it will not be easy.

Lando Norris: “I’m very excited to be back in Austin and start the final set of built stages of the season. The US Grand Prix weekend is always fun, and this year’s stage will be special as it will be my 100th race in Formula 1 with McLaren. Austin is a great place to celebrate as the fans always create a fantastic atmosphere.

It’s just incredible that there were two of us on the podium again in Qatar. The team’s hard work is rewarded. I was at the base in Woking last week to celebrate the success with the team and reflect on the weekend to see what could be improved.

In addition, I have been working on the simulator in preparation for the next three phases, to understand where we can improve. There is a challenge ahead, but everyone in the team is determined to get even more points.”

Oscar Piastri: “I had an unforgettable race weekend in Qatar! Second podium place in a row and first place in the sprint. We’ve had some great races and now I’m looking forward to my first American Grand Prix as a Formula 1 driver.

I’ve never raced a COTA track before and I can’t wait to experience the incredible energy of the local fans. The track is interesting: the sectors resemble parts of other championship courses. Another sprint weekend is coming up, so more opportunities to earn points!”

Andrea Stellateam manager: “After a successful weekend in Qatar we returned to base with four cups and a record for the fastest pit stop in Formula 1. The team is now preparing for the final five races of the season – one more awaits us weekend in the sprint stage of Austin.

Lando will compete in his 100th Formula 1 race this weekend, a significant achievement for a driver still in the early stages of his career.

Austin has a fantastic atmosphere, incredible fans and exciting racing. The penultimate sprint stage of the season awaits us and we are determined to earn as many points as possible. We expect the opponents to be strong, so the coming races could be more difficult for us. However, we go to the track with the aim of earning points, which are so important for us in the Constructors’ Championship.”
