Formula 1 leadership continues to discuss possible options for replacing the canceled Russian Grand Prix. According to Racingnews365, the organizers of the race in Singapore have the best chance of hosting the stage instead of Sochi.
The Russian Grand Prix was set to take place on September 23-25, a week before the Singapore stage, which would open a series of built stages. To avoid problems with logistics, Formula 1 wants to hold two races at the Singapore city circuit – one instead of Sochi, the second – on the originally scheduled date of October 2.
In addition, the race on the first race weekend is scheduled in natural light. So if this plan is implemented, we will wait for the first day of racing in Singapore. On the second weekend, the race at the Marina Bay circuit will start at 8pm local time, which is already known to Singapore.
The option to hold a race in Qatar in Formula 1 on September 25 has not been completely abandoned, but the chance of such a scenario is smaller than holding two races in Singapore. The reason is the high temperature, which in September in Qatar reaches +40C.
