Sebastian Vettel successfully tested the Porsche 963 Hypercar at the Spanish Motorland Aragon circuit. The four-time world champion completed a total of 118 laps (581 kilometers) during the day, after which he listed the results of his work on the track.
Sebastian Vettel: “Of course I follow various racing series and I know many of the drivers who participate in the FIA WEC and Le Mans. At one point my curiosity was so great that I decided to try out one of these machines in person. And Porsche gave me the chance to test their current 963 hypercar.
After adjusting the seat, testing on the simulator and running in Weissach, I already had a good idea. It was fun to drive the Porsche 963 in Aragon, but first we had to get used to everything and find a rhythm.
Driving a hypercar is different from driving the racing vehicles I’m used to because there’s a roof over your head. You also have to take the higher weight and different tires into account. The Porsche factory racers were very nice and explained to me what the car’s features were and what to look out for. This made it easier for me.”
