McLaren driver Jake Hughes has partially recovered from yesterday’s problems when his fourth fastest time, shown in Saturday’s qualifying, was canceled due to the car’s failure to meet technical regulations.
However, today, during the second qualifying of the weekend in Misano, he won pole – this is the third achievement of the Briton during his exploits in Formula E. But it is interesting that the second result, like yesterday, was shown by Jean -Eric Vergne, two-time champion of the electric series, playing for DS Penske.
Another coincidence with the result of Saturday’s qualifying was the third fastest time of Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein. Nico Müller will start next to him from the second row in the electric racing car ABT Cupra, while Sam Bird, Hughes’ teammate, and Stoffel Vandord, Vergne’s teammate, will start from the third row on Sunday.
Among the losers are Mitch Evans, the winner of yesterday’s qualifying, and Antonio Felix da Costa, Wehrlein’s teammate. Some problems prevented Evans from rising above 15th position.
If we talk about the Portuguese, he is really unlucky this weekend. Not only that yesterday, after honestly winning the race on the circuit, he was disqualified due to a ridiculous violation of the technical regulations that had no effect on the speed, but today he will start from the last position, since the time he showed in qualifying has been removed for not adhering to the route limits.
