Carlos Sainz and his father attended the Spanish MotoGP stage in Barcelona this weekend. There they were guests of the Italian team Gresini, which used Ducati motorcycles, for which Marc Marquez, six-time world champion, has been racing since 2024.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the two drivers developed an excellent relationship during a period when Marquez had serious problems due to injuries, which affected his psychological state and therefore his results.
Last year, Mark moved to Madrid, near where Carlos lives, and provided him with very important support during the adjustment period in the Spanish capital. And in the winter off-season they even trained together and generally spent a lot of time in the same company.
Presumably this all benefited both: Sainz has already won this year and Marquez took second place on his home podium today.
By the way, Carlos Sainz Sr., who was entrusted with an honorary mission, stood on the podium in Barcelona – he was among those who presented awards to representatives of leading teams.
