Much has been said and written about Lando Norris’ debut victory, and now McLaren has shared a powerful video dedicated to his visit to the base in Woking.
Tellingly, the video was not prepared by the team’s press office, but by McLaren Automotive, the car division of the McLaren Group. Therefore, Lando was greeted by Michael Leiters, CEO of the company that produces sports cars under the McLaren brand, and arrived at the McLaren Technology Center (MTC) to the applause of those who gathered in one of these cars, the impressive 765LT Spider, built to a special order.
Leiters asked Norris which emotions prevailed in Miami: was he happy or more nervous? “Together! – Lando replied. “Then I thought that possible scenarios could be different, both good and bad. I had time to think about many things, but the most important thing was that I had to remember to breathe! It’s coming After all, I just forget to breathe while leading the race.
I tried to remain calm until the moment it became clear that everything was going according to plan. But surprisingly, I felt confident and acted very calmly.
But now we have one more race to win! After all, this is just a good start, and while I’m happy with this first win, two wins are better than one! We are in top form, the team is doing great and I am very proud to drive for McLaren.”
Naturally, Lando said a few kind words about McLaren sports cars, because in his personal garage there are four such cars of different models, and the one he drove to MTS is the most expensive, it costs 350 thousand pounds sterling. And because it belongs to a Formula 1 driver who has already achieved victories, it is even more expensive.
